Following the viral success of humanoid smart robots from mainland-based Unitree Robotics dancing on the Spring Festival Gala, local company Xlife Robot recently purchased a Unitree G1 humanoid robot, naming it “Bobby.” The company aims to provide robot rental services for local merchants to attract foot traffic for the local service and retail industries.
Yesir Cheng, founder of Xlife Robot, stated that the company purchased a Unitree G1 humanoid robot in March of this year at a price of 99,000 RMB. Currently, the company owns only one humanoid robot, but may purchase more robots from different brands in the future. The plan is to rent them out to enterprises, shopping malls, exhibitions, festive events, and the catering and retail sectors for visitors to take photos and “check in,” assisting merchants in drawing crowds. However, he added that Xlife Robot has not currently signed an agency agreement with Unitree Robotics.
